I moved into an office space at the beginning of the year but am only just now getting around to showing you the reveal. It is a single room in the Emmy Deveaux building (see the map here) that Emily has graciously allowed me to rent. If you haven’t been to the Emmy Deveaux Show Room and you live in the Edmonton area (though they have a Calgary location now too), swinging by is a must (and if I’m in the office you should say hi!). She has the best wardrobe staples for your closet, designed locally here in Edmonton (I have been slowly building up my own Emmy Deveaux collection and the design and quality of the pieces are unparalleled).
I was so thrilled that the opportunity for renting a space was available. I’m sure that those of you who work from home can attest that while the flexibility of a home office is an amazing perk, it can be hard to focus on work (when there’s a million and one things you need to do around the house) and it is also lonely at times (while I have lovely clients and industry partners that I meet with, it is not always on the daily, so it’s nice to be able to go to a space and have some human connection). I’ve also found that I have been far more productive while at the office as there are fewer interruptions and distractions, so now I just need to be more diligent about carving regular scheduled office hours, but that’s a struggle for another time.
